Mott MacDonald MIS (Merseyside Information Service) was
commissioned on behalf of Merseyside Waste Disposal Authority to
conduct a survey evaluating how Merseyside residents would like
their domestic waste to be dealt with.
A survey was designed and mailed out across Merseyside to 10,000
households. It was designed to explore opinions on recycling, the
preferred recycling options of respondents, and residents' feelings
on recycling centres being built close to their homes.
The questionnaires were returned to Mott MacDonald MIS and we
analysed the results and produced a report on the findings. In
general, residents were supportive of efforts to imporve recycling
performance but some were reluctant to have waste management
facilities sited near to their homes.
