Mott MacDonald monitored the Energy Efficiency Demonstration
Project for Future Energy Solutions (FES), a 3.5 MW gas turbine
generator using landfill gas at the Packington site. The electrical
power is exported to the national grid.
Monitoring included the measurement of all important plant
performance parameters on a continuous basis with results
downloaded to our Brighton office weekly. Actual performance was
measured under test conditions at the start and end of the
monitoring periods for comparison with the predicted performance.
Problems identified under operating conditions were assessed and
the required remedial actions recommended.
