On behalf of the Maritius Ministry of Local Government and Solid
Waste Management, Mott MacDonald was asked to undertake work on a
proposed sixth cell adjacent to the island’s only landfill
site.
In accordance with best pratice, Mott MacDonald produced a
scoping report for the whole EIA, a water resource chapter. Mott
MacDonald acted as technical author for the final environmental
statement.

A leachate water balance assessment was undertaken in addition to a
Landsim model of the existing landfill designs and the proposed
design.
