Technical and contractual assistance provided by Mott MacDonald
to the Deparment of Food, Environment and Rural Affairs (Defra) in
relation to the disposal of animal carcasses resulting from the
foot and mouth epidemic.
The project invovled the undertaking of a major monitoring
programme and associated risk assessment to demonstrate that the
carcass disposal did not impact on the surrounding environment.
Mott MacDonald also provided assistance to Defra with the
negotaitaion of appropriate compensation to the operators of the
landfill.
