Mott MacDonald was employed by Norfolk County Council (NCC) to
review and compare proposed new contracts for the management and
operation of the Norfolk’s household waste recycling centres with
the existing contracts.
The aim of the new recycling centres contract was to:
- improve customer service through more face-to-face contact with
the public;
- provide more education and guidance; and
- expand the range of recyclable materials handled, leading to
improved recycling rates
It was recognised that these factors would have cost impacts and
Mott MacDonald assessed these factors. We also recommended further
options for consideration by the council to meet the aims listed
above.
