The Lead Officer Waste Management (LOWM) group for 9 waste
disposal authorities in the east of England commissioned Mott
MacDonald to develop and co-ordinate a regional partnership
approach to landfill diversion in East Anglia in order to avoid
LATS penalties.
Councils are looking for waste strategies to
avoid the LATS penalties
The output to this Defra funded project comprised a position
statement with respect to LATS performance and waste
infrastructure. It also included a report on the impact of the WEEE
Directive, guidance on forming a LATS trading protocol and the
publication of the Second Kelly Market data collected from the
majority of the English authorities.
