We worked with with the Royal Bank of Scotland to determine the
most likely long term trends for the use of residual waste
technologies in the UK market. Our study included the following
options:
- EfW;
- MBT (anaerobic digestion, composting);
- Gasification and pyrolysis; and
- Autoclaving.
We also considered the likelihood that some of the more unusual
technologies will emerge as being viable in a municipal waste
context (e.g. plasma arc, ethanol production, fuel cell
etc.).
Our client was particularly keen that we detail the technical and
commercial risks associated with these technologies.
Our study was presented as both quantitative and qualitative risk
scenarios.
