For any waste management project, the main objectives of the
feasibility stage are to assess the practicality of the schemes
under consideration, to determine the method of operation and
conceptual layout and to provide a realistic budget estimate of the
works.
Issues that were broadly investigated during the site selection
process will be developed and assessed by our waste and other
specialists in more detail for the shortlisted sites. A general
layout will be devised for each site taking into account site
specific factors such as access, availability of space and
potential use of existing buildings around which a scheme of
operation will be developed.
We will prepare, manage and supervise geological and contamination
site investigations to determine the foundations required,
establish the quantity of soil to be relocated and assess the need
and extent of any soil remediation.
Mott MacDonald is recognised as a centre of excellence in the
application of computer modelling methods to atmospheric emissions
and dispersion, groundwater flow and contaminant, transport and
river and catchment systems.
We can assemble the appropriate team of engineers,
environmentalists and waste management specialists to cover the
whole range of feasibility investigations, including
techno-economic analysis of options, market opportunities for
by-products, conceptual design and the preparation of outline
drawings.
